Pride
By: Shiyu Rao
At the beginning of this summer, I went to my first pride parade. It was in Rome. The 40-celsius-degree summer heat + Italian enthusiasm, perfect pride atmosphere. Standing in the crowd, I was surrounded by smiley faces and crazy outfits. All that love, tolerance, courage, and happiness were glittering so strongly in the ancient streets. I loved it so much!
And I was lucky enough to go to another two later on, one in Vienna and one in Berlin. A thunderstorm started halfway through the parade in Berlin. It didn't scare the crowd away, though. Everyone embraced the madness in a cheering way. I felt relieved, to be in the shower of rainfall in the middle of July, celebrating the awesomeness of each individual with some many incredible people.
Here are some of the pictures I took, hope you enjoy.
