It's Time To Go

by Hikareiy

When your most trusted knight stabbed you with a wicked smile, how did that feel?

Or when your beloved king, charmed by a banshee, neglected you ever since?

Dedicated to him with all my heart but he ripped it apart without remorse, how would that feel?

When the alphabets of love become jumbled up would they spell out hatred instead?

Three nightmares to craft that letter then he took three heartbeats to skim through it,

Only to tell me he already knew, already rejected.

When the prince realised the sleeping beauty he kissed was Maleficent in disguise,

Would he return to the slain dragon, to atone for his arrogance, his prejudice and his stupidity?

The past was covered in dust, the narrative became twisted.

What should have been mine, was taken away with such ease.

That banshee was made queen, and the witch a matchmaker.

I was cast aside as the third party, crowned with a sin I’m not guilty of.

Would two conflicting notes synchronise in harmony?

When fireflies and snowflakes clashed, would they offset each other,

Or reach the port of reconciliation and harbour one other?

Memories drifting in a breeze, the fallen leaves over concrete path.

Spring awakened with brand-new things, but failed to bring me back my everything,

He lost me, but I’ve got me,

I have my destiny, my creativity.

Maybe I should let go, maybe I should have left long ago,

The road ahead is brighter, yes?

Yes, it will be better.
